Northern Bank needed a technology partner that was capable of taking a design and developing a technology strategy and implementation plan quickly for their Northern Bank Direct digital platform. Agency 451, a longtime partner of Cloud Construct, created the design for the Northern Bank Direct site and introduced Cloud Construct to make the site come to life through web development and engineering. After a successful implementation, Northern Bank was also interested in moving the site onto a content management system (CMS) where they could more actively manage content updates. Cloud was happy to lend our experience to this initiative.
Northern Bank is in the business of providing their customers with competitive rates and they wanted to be able to keep these rates current online. The marketing team at Northern Bank needed a CMS that allowed them to update the rates and offer details quickly in response to the market. In addition to the offers, regular product content, security, privacy, legal and disclosure information needed a more flexible process. Moving to a user-friendly CMS would streamline the process and make it easier and faster to update the site. Northern Bank also knew it was critical to be ADA compliant as well as responsive to meet the evolving needs of online users and customers. Cloud Construct made sure these areas were a priority in the effort.
Cloud Construct evaluated the business needs, user goals and technical constraints in order to select the Craft CMS for Northern Bank. Craft allows the end user to work in real-time and save previews, which we knew would be a helpful feature for a compliance approval process. ADA compliance was tackled during this CMS build by incorporating remote front-end markup to meet HTML5 outlining. Accessibly styled fallback tables were added as a screen ready way of viewing charts. Stylesheets were rewritten where the market had changed to accommodate ADA- compliant H1, H2, H3, headings. Lastly, the menus keyboard was made navigable. We also moved the site to a new hosting provider to create additional efficiencies and cost savings.
Cloud Construct continues our relationship with Northern Bank each month through our maintenance retainer model. We look forward to continued work with Northern Bank and Agency 451.
